Comments: – Trump is either playing good cop/bad cop or he is sincere. Medvedev is Russia’s counter to the possibility Trump is just playing a good cop. – Putin is accommodating Trump out of the hope that Trump is sincere and a belief that Trump is not in full control of the situation. The reasons why Putin and the Russians are willing to “negotiate with the US” is because they know that Trump wants to end the war and he is not “the US”, he is the sincere Disruptor Trump.
They also know that this is their one chance to get an agreement with the US on the new security architecture for Europe, and if they don’t give Trump all the help he needs in overcoming the Neocon opposition, almost-majority, in the US, they won’t have another opportunity.
Another reason Putin is involving himself in this “play” is to buy time allowing Russia even more time to get stronger Militarily, Economically and Politically.
