Alex, I too have attended the May 9th parade, many years ago, and it was breathtaking. The military display of total precision and dedication should make every NATO country terrified. (I mean look at the debacle in Britain a few days ago. Dire. Sloppy marching, overweight guardsmen, the Prime Minister did not stand when the King stood and saluted the troops. What really touches me is the laying of flowers at the Eternal Flame. Yesterday, with all the heads of state there, it was specially wonderful. I watched the whole parade and the lines of the marchers were absolutely spot on. Kudos to the protocol team who organised such a massive undertaking as well as the welcome and the schedule of meetings between Putin and his guests. Lovely to see Vucic and Fico together, too.
