Having the Vatican host the “meeting” between Trump and Zelensky, just minutes before the funeral of the pope is disgusting. Zelensky did not come for the funeral.
I wouldn’t worry about Graham, but I agree he’s not things. The Republican base may not be crazy about Trump, but they sure as heck are sick of the war. Just like the 2 impeachments, even though virtually every Republican in the Senate hates Trump, they also know that voting against him on such a high-profile issue means they will never win another election – so they didn’t (during impeachment) and they won’t here, other than maybe a handful of hard-core RINOs (Graham needs 20 Republican votes to override Trump).

A substantial number of Ukrainians are Catholics because, in the Lvov region they were once part of Poland. Also they are called ‘Greek’ Catholics because they follow the Byzantine Rite like the Orthodox Church but they regard the Pope as head of their Church not the Patriarch of Constantinople. Frankly, I regard Ukraine/Russia having talks in the Vatican as tasteless. The Vatican has always been anti-Russian ever since WW1 and earlier. This is not an impartial venue.
The Senate doesn’t impeach, the House does. The Senate convicts. So, for Graham to make good on his threat, the House must impeach Trump. The entire House is up for reelection next year so the likelihood that the House would impeach Trump because Lindsey Graham is throwing a temper tantrum is slim.
