The Greenlanders have already told Trump where to put his boat. They have free health care and can be flown to Denmark, also for free health care, if the case warrants it. Compare that with the fact that in the US massive numbers of people can’t even afford health insurance premiums.
Oil price is a function of supply and demand. The the ability to change supply or demand, is the ability to drive price. The reason oil prices would spike in the event of war is that closing the Strait of Hormuz, or attacks on tankers or infrastructure would cut worldwide supply by almost 1/3 resulting in oil spiking to the $100 to $140 range. With oil currently at $67, we are not seeing much concern in the current market about the Straits actually being closed. The interruption of use of the Straits is only one factor.
