No Negotiation is Possible with the Dying Empire

Our most senior diplomat gives a class on diplomacy and the consequences of the lack of US diplomacy. Trump’s speech yesterday was humbug and the whole world knows it. Russia and Iran have both given up trying to negotiate with the United States. This means the end of the international trust and cooperation that Chas Freeman spent a lifetime trying to build. I would say that as Western imperialism enters its final collapse, it is too unstable to negotiate with. It is not “agreement capable” as the Russians put it. Our President is crazy mad with imperial hubris, as imperialism collapses around him. He is precipitating a world-wide economic depression by preventing exports of oil and other essential products from leaving the Gulf. The best that Russia, China and Iran and the rest of the world can do is try to contain this senile empire until its leadership in the US and Europe is replaced by their own people with leaders capable of acting rationally. There is nothing like a good old-fashioned depression to get people moving. It is up to us to do everything we can to organize a progressive movement to replace our totally corrupt political leaders.
