Why evacuate Lebanon and not Iran & Israël? Surely, Iran would retaliate against Israël, and Israël would further escalate against Iran, wouldn’t they?
I would think that this is a unique opportunity for the Islamic Republic of Iran to call for an urgent meeting of the UN General Assembly, to call for a motion of blame against Israël, and to call for a motion to recognise the State of Palestine, based on the 1967 borders mandated by the UNSC. And none of this would preclude an announcement of intention to retaliate militarily against Israël in accordance with International Law.
