Why does anyone need to know what WaPo writes? Just sayin’!
Easier than taking a course in “Creative Lying” at Harvard or Yale.
All information is valuable – as long as you evaluate it correctly. To believe what the WaPo writes would be foolish. But it’s useful to know that the WaPo says it, because then you can ask why. I guess someone thinks they would like a lot of Westerners to believe – wrongly – that Messrs Putin and Trump have talked, and that Trump warned Putin not to escalate. Such belief inclines people to see Trump as powerful and in control, and Putin as biddable and somewhat weak.
I am working on the degree “Dr. of Lies”. The Washington Post, The New York Times, and Political Conventions are excellent opportunities for research.
I don’t buy the idea that Mr Biden could authorise acts that would commit his successor to a certain policy. If that were possible, what would be the point in having an election?
That raises the interesting question of what can and does go on between Nov 4 and Jan 20 of an election cycle. One thing is this would usually be the time for the outgoing president to issue pardons if he is so inclined.
As for everything else, I suppose common decency and courtesy would suggest that nothing drastic would take place to impede the new administration. At least during usual times.
These, however, are not usual times. Stay tuned.
I don’t think Putin has a taste for liver sausage.
