They’re run the French out of Africa, slaughtered them in Ukraine, and generally beat them like a stepchild everywhere else. It’s humiliating really. Some men who are short in stature are not bothered by it. But Macron is not one of those. You can see it in his annoyance whenever he is upstaged or confronted with criticism, he reacts as a petulant child. The picture of Macron running away from the farmers is hard to unsee. Macron needed a visceral news event to distract the public from that image. That would appear to be the primary motivation for making noise about going to war with Russia. Macron is the new Bagdad Bob. You should not talk s**t if you do not have anything to back it up with.
Perhaps Macron is using reverse psychology. He’s making agressive resistance into a stupid idea. By the time he’s finished they’ll be holding ticker tape parades for Putin in Berlin.
The US has saved France twice. I do not think there will be a third time.
I don’t believe Petr Pavel is nervous. He will just turn coat if Russia wins and will work for his former KGB bosses again.
France is collapsing. The only hope for the leadership is an explicitly aggressive interaction with Russia will allow Russia to be accused of being responsible for France’s disintegration.
