It’s hard to imagine what kind of understanding Washington could reach with Mr Maduro. How do you make friends with someone after calling him a drug lord and a murderer?
Mr Rubio seems to be some sort of attack dog whom Mr Trump unleashes when he wants to threaten someone. But I think Rubio is on dangerous ground, because Mr Trump is liable at any moment to change his mind and leave Rubio looking dishonest or foolish.
The US government should be very careful about telling other countries, “You are either with us or against us”. The USA has less than 5% of the world’s population, and at some point the other countries will start saying, “Well, if you put it that way… we’re not with you, so we must be against you”.

May be the Trump administration used the time to classify everything in the Epstein files what has been unclassified so far but what they don’t want to be released- could that an option. I don’t know
Where is the proof to back up Rubio’s accusations? Maduro won an election that was acknowledged by the world as free and fair. There is no evidence provided here that he has anything to do with a drugs cartel; it’s not enough to blow boats out of the water just by saying so. Is it so hard for the US to understand that Maduro seems popular in Venezuela and Machado (who never speaks in Spanish) is not wanted by anyone? Didn’t they learn their lesson with Juan Guido?
