I seriously doubt that any moneys allocated towards the Ukraine war, will have any impact on the war itself at all. 100% of the allocated money will be stolen, and will not translate into arms or ammunition. I have worked in government programs, and when everyone knows the program is over, everything gets stolen…. everything.

There is a lot of questioning over what kind of relation the remaining Ukraine would have with Russia. After the exploitation, betrayal, and abandonment of Ukraine by the West, is there not the possibility that reality kicks in over time? Chechenia has been fighting a brutal war with the Russians on behalf of the West, but after 20+ years reality seems to have finally kicked in, and the Chechen fighters are now amongst Russia’s best help in Ukraine. Knowing full well what the West is, they now have a bone to pick with them.

How any political faction, within a nation or alliance may define or declare “victory” in a generated, or degenerated geopolitical conflict such as this ongoing one- Ukraine, the “red-haired stepchild” of the collective west, used by US/UK/EU/NATO, vs. Russia, may be ultimately resolved as conditional on such bargains that they may make in secret and on sidebars, and how those compromises may be viewed by their populations/public, & the commentariate/media, under under-reported news wrap-ups, may appear heroic, such as, when, the US, in 1962, under JFK, made a last-minute emergency deal/compromise with the USSR, during the Cuban Missile Crisis, agreed… Read more »

Quite right, so true. These are not just questions or concerns to be mediated -resolved by deliberate, intricate, deceptive sophistry, mass-formation psychoses, mass-mind focused hypnotic devices,or clever debating tactics produced in front AV screen space of mass-media audiences comprised of potential influencers & passive or active voters, far removed from the existential realities on the ground and in the sea, the air & near outer space.

I don’t like to seem to be “seeking approval”.

Oh, wait a minute, wait a second, I’m commenting on my own comments, which is like an “echo chamber”. Sorry

Evidently Messrs Orban and Mercouris are in “the reality-based community”, which barely overlaps with the Democrat universe. When one considers that the main purpose of the Ukraine project all along was simply to harm Russia – purely destructive – it’s hard to see why the outgoing administration would refrain from a “scorched earth” policy to hand over the worst possible situation.

What is judged “economically rational” depends entirely on who is doing the judging, and whose interests are being pursued. The national interests of the German people as a whole (what is left off them) are diametrically opposed to those of the small clique of super-rich who actual control German (and European, and UK, and US) politics.
