Global dominance was not a burden for the US, it enabled the US to live beyond its means, by extracting tribute from the dominated parties. The US exported bits of printed papaer and got real stuff in exchange. Recall the term ‘Euro dollars’. Bizarre. The US sent dollars to Europe and got real stuff in exchange but when the holders of those dollars wanted real stuff from the US in exchange their dollars suddenly from the US ‘Them’s Euro- dollars you shall use them only amongst yourselves, we will not accept them back.

No one is half-witted. The great majority of Europeans will lose greatly by this, as they are already losing through the political reactions to Covid and the Ukraine SMO. But they had absolutely no say in those decisions; no influence, even.

The tiny handful of politicians who made the decisions couldn’t care less about Europe or Europeans. They got theirs.

Didn’t i always agree with you about the outcome of this and various salient conflicts in this theater of operations? I mean, what are people arguing about? It’s all over but the shouting and recriminations
