I feel SO sad for the Ukrainian people, and quite sympathetic to the Russian people. The Russians have had a hard life throughout their history – poor quality soils, terrible climate, incl unreliable rainfall causing numerous drought-induced famines; terrible natural geographic & topographic security, causing numerous invasions.
