Some of these crazed things Zelinsky is saying and is doing could be explained by the psychosis that develops in many people after heavy cocaine use. In the early 70s I witnessed some bizarre behavioral changes in acquaintances who were using cocaine. They appeared as seemingly minor behavior changes but ended with major cataclysmic decisions.
Even modern weed can do that. Today’s stuff has been selectively bred is 5(?) times stronger than the ’80s.It actually shouldn’t be legalised, except that that would force it into underground crime.
I have never partaken in the stuff myself but I have been with people lighting up joints and passing them around. The experience of listening to steadily degenerating conversations where people constantly lost track of what they were saying, not finishing sentences, giggling insanely, and afterwards going on about all the great ideas they had shared, was quite enough to deter me for life from ever using drugs.
