You are correct to express your sympathies. Thank you!! My understanding is that The Old Testament reveals God’s promise to favour the Hebrews in order to prepare the arrival of the Messiah. His purpose was therefore not “unfathomable”.
However, in accordance with the good news of the Messiah’s arrival and Christ’s resurection (including that of Lazarus) in The New Testament (God’s promise of the universal resurection), we can now express our sympathies for all slaughtered nations by praying for the salvation of their souls.
