Is Russia an “adversary power” of the USA? I’m not sure. The US government says it is, but the Russian government doesn’t want hostile relations.

Still, contrary to what certain people are always saying, it takes only one to start a fight.

On further thought, the US government views any government that does not exhibit slavish obedience to Washington as an “adversary”. Naively, I wonder why all those “adversaries” don’t put their heads together and adopt a common strategy.

Sorry, Mr Mercouris. Britain’s last acts as a great power were probably to enter WW1 and then to ignore Germany’s many peace offers. FDR personally orchestrated France and Britain declaring war on Germany, just as he orchestrated Pearl Harbor. FDR told the Germans to push for the return of Danzig, which (he said) was their plain right. He told the Poles to stand for no nonsense from Germany, and to fight if necessary. He told France and Britain to guarantee the integrity of Poland, and promised that the USA would be right behind them if it came to war. All… Read more »

As of today Pokrovsk, Vovchansk, and Kupyansk are gone, and Myrnograd, Sieversk, Gulyai Pole, Konstantinovka are soon to follow. Then Slaviansk and Kramatorsk, and commentators are already anticipating the fall of Zaporizhzhia.

Mr Mercouris has a point. King John was forced to accept jury trials; that was 800 years ago (actually 810 years). And now comes Sir Keir Starmer – the new King John.

But where are the barons?

Mr Mercouris needs to understand, as do the Russians and even I, that negotiations with the USA are pointless – because the US government’s aim is to destroy the Russian nation and break it up.

They may be happy to spin out talks if it keeps the West from getting violent, even for the time being. Even Churchill said “Jaw-jaw is better than war-war”.

Barnes gives Trump too much credit. The truth is Trump is a traitor, the same as every other politcian in Washington DC. The only way to fix the USA is to burn down the government and rebuild it from scratch.
