How Did We Get Into This Mess?

Netanyahu is apparently saying the strike on Iran was a mistake, regime change is not a practical alternative and they will have to rethink their strategy. I think it’s too late for that. This mistake is going to be fatal. Iran has proved that US military might cannot protect the Gulf oil emirates either from Iran or from Israel. They will have to kick the US military bases out and rely for protection on the regional hegemon, which is Iran, which will continue to exercise control over the Strait of Hormuz. The longer this goes on, the more dire consequences for both the markets and the real economy there will be. The American people will be asking who got us into this mess, and the answer will be simple: Israel. We did this for Israel, for the Epstein class of which Trump is a member. When Iran pounds Israel into a parking lot, most Americans will be saying “good riddance”. I certainly will. I am hoping Americans will build some kind of non-partisan antiwar movement to elect a genuine peace candidate in 2028.
