The West left themselves in tatters, in tatters I say.

A impeding problem in the USA is the promotion of people into important roles for society’s functioning, not based primarily on their abilities to perform those roles based on metrics required for the roles, but, on other considerations, metrics to show equitable distribution of gender and race. I understand the benefits of more equitable inclusion, but having a functionary who embarrass US society by not being able to perform an important role does not aid in society’s optimum functioning and detracts from the positive image of equitable inclusion.
