I don’t think that it’s what Erdogan received from the US/EU for his duplicity re Sweden/NATO, I think it is more of a question of what he DIDN’T receive. In other words, when you have major US bases in your country, you have a permanent menacing presence that can cause you a great deal of trouble. Because of Turkey’s vitally strategic location, they will NEVER be rid of the US bases. It’s like having the Mafia set up shop opposite your restaurant. You cannot refuse their demands because they are always watching you.
Some might call it a menacing presence, others good for business.
Erdogan is a trader the way a whore is a trader. Geostrategically Erdogan is a very pretty whore but it’s really tough having a whore as a girlfriend.
I agree with Alexander… Russia have to diversify her pipelines strategy. She cannot rely on Pr.t Erdogan who minds only his own interest before everything else…Alternatives are a must and are a wise decisions. Erdogan was and still is, a thug.
