I would argue that it is likely that President Trump is trying to protect someone else, that is close to him, perhaps a major supporter, that is compromised in the Epstein files. Therefore, it would be that compromised supporter that could hurt Trump. Just an opinion.

Btw, the sort of commission that Alexander is suggesting, ought to be mandated to investigate not only Epstein in particular, but foreign influence in general, including the potential blackmail of senators and congressmen by foreign agents such as Epstein, and whomever replaced him.
Alexander says “If there had been actual bad news about Trump in the Epstein Files the FBI, the Biden Administration, all these terrible people would have used it against Trump long ago”. What Alexander doesn’t understand is that the totally corrupt/ controlled FBI, the Biden Administration and “all of those terrible people” are themselves in/ connected to those files as well as their handlers.
