Drug Kingpin Killing Not What It Seems

The coverage in the mainstream media of the killing of drug cartel boss El Mencho is a fine example of propaganda when compared with background presented here by someone who knows Mexico. US intelligence agencies have long been in cahoots with the cartels, both arming them and helping them to import drugs into the US. They take a big cut from the cartels to fund their black ops. In order to justify their budgets, they have what is called a “kingpin strategy” where every so often they take out a “drug kingpin” with maximum publicity. These publicity stunts do not change the underlying social conditions, and the drug trade goes on. Meanwhile, the social conditions in Mexico have actually been improving under their last two administrations, which have not been so subservient to the Yankees as previous ones. This is something US policymakers don’t want, and so all we hear in the M$M is about the cartels and the violence. The nakedly imperialistic US covets Mexico’s natural resources and is whipping up an excuse for invading Mexico.
