Europe is entering its second dark ages. I do not think that Europe understands the animosity that the average US citizen feels for Europe. The American people have always viewed Europe as a beggar relative, and that there is little or no benifit in our relationship. Trump seems to understand and sympathise with that view. This feeling is what drove US isolationism after WW1, and that political position is on the rise today. If I remember correctly, during his first term Trump tried to sabotage trade between Russia and Germany. Can anyone confirm/dispute this?
If you call placing the same tarriffs on Germany that they put on the US as sabotage, then you need to learn the definition of the word….
I wonder if those same average USians are remotely aware that their own country created this conflict in Ukraine in order to sow discord between Europe and Russia and pillage the former of its industrial manufacturing sector (because otherwise the declining USA wouldn’t drag Europe along with it – so much for the notion of Europe as a “beggar relative”, huh!). I remember there was a RAND report detailing something to that extent.
