For the last 150 years, Germany and Russia should have been allied to bring peace and tranquility to the European Continent. Based on an intelligent understanding of geopolitical reality, not on silly animosities. Can you imagine all of the trouble and turmoil that could have been avoided? All of the destruction and suffering?

Turkish moves are going against the grain (for now) and all of this has to be taken with a grain of salt. It continues to play both sides for its own benefits obviously.
Turkey is a NATO member, so cannot be trusted as a neutral country. For Erdogan`s overtures to be meaningful Turkey needs to get rid of its NATO membership.
