Commander of Russian troops in Syria to head Russia’s Aerospace Forces

MOSCOW (Sputnik) – The commander of the Russian group of forces in Syria, Col. Gen. Sergei Surovikin, will replace Viktor Bondarev as head of Russia’s Aerospace Forces from October this year, two sources in the Russian Defense Ministry told Sputnik on Thursday.

“Col. Gen. Surovikin will assume the duties of commander of the Aerospace Forces from October this year,”

a source said.
