One wonders why India should feel it needs the S-500. Who would attack India with ICBMs? Presumably only China, which is disturbing.

It suddenly occurs to me that this behaviour is very similar to that of LLMs when confronted with evidence of their own “hallucinations”. They typically admit freely that the statements were untrue, and sometimes add expressions of regret or apology. How to interpret those expressions is an interesting question.
