Can anyone explain how the Red Army could put down 1000 pieces of artillery pieces per kilometre in the final attack on Berlin in 1945 if Russia can only make 100 barrels per year in 2024?
“Can anyone explain how the Red Army could put down 1000 pieces of artillery pieces per kilometre in the final attack on Berlin in 1945 if Russia can only make 100 barrels per year in 2024?”
Sure! In 1945 Russia was engaged in a real war and wanted to win it.
“USSR was engaged in a real war in Aghanistan and wanted to win it too.” The USSR, just like the USSA of today, was a corrupt, backwards shit hole mired in sheer incompetence wherein the right hand didn’t even know what the left hand was doing because the entire enterprise, especially in its latter years, was too busy collapsing. “The way you come off is that you actually believe that you’re smarter than the combined Russian administration and you actually know what’s best for their country. So much so that it just pisses you off because they’re all too stupid… Read more »
“As far as I understand the Russian gov still hasn’t officially declared war and is still operating under ‘Special Military Operation’ directives…”
Interesting to observe the lengths to which some people will go in their vain attempts to rationalize the irrational.
A whole lot can and does happen in 79 years.
“Rus Breakthrough Toretsk” One of the declared main objectives of the Russian Special Military Operation (SMO) was allegedly to secure the areas around Donetsk so that Ukrainian artillery could no longer randomly shell it at leisure. The idea was to push the Ukrainians back at least far enough so that Donetsk would be out of range for their artillery. For your information, modern artillery systems possess an average range of about 30 miles and more advanced precision-guided 155mm shells can reach up to 60+ miles. So how is it that we are over 2 years into this conflict and Toretsk, which… Read more »
Do not give up your day-job.
My day job consists of analyzing financial markets, political developments and social trends holistically in order to identify patterns, deconstruct narratives and correctly project future outcomes. I must be doing something right because I was able to raise myself from the most abject of poverty ..I didn’t even have hot water in my home as a kid… to living quite a life of comfort, happiness and financial stability.
If the Jamestown chappies name purports to be Luzhin, it may well be a cover. V.Nabokov wrote an excellent short story about an autistic chess champion called Luzhin’s Defence.
Russia has not approached NATO’s borders. NATO has approached Russia’s borders.
If a supposedly “defensive” alliance has not had to do any defending in 76 years, its bureaucrats are bound to grow uneasy about their gravy train. So it is understandable that they should push arrogantly into another country’s region in the hope of starting a war.
Understandable but unforgivable.
Surely it doesn’t matter whether Biden (or the person playing Biden) stays or goes, everyone knows he hasn’t run anything for years, so he isn’t going to start now. If the election of 2020 hadn’t been a massive cheat, he would have faded into obscurity a long time ago.
I wouldn’t “give” anything back when its been paid so dearly for.
