If Gonzalo was correct yesterday in that hip money traders would love to get their hands on or take positions in rubles, The u.s. gov’t (diminutization is intentional) is doing the wheelers and dealers a favor by making rubles easily available to them. Even if a bondholder wasn’t interested in manipulating piles of rubles, that bondholder could go into the business of selling rubles at a profit.
