As the West approaches bankruptcy and depression, what is likely to happen to the five trillion in petrodollars – about one-third of the whole world’s sovereign wealth? If the West is willing to confiscate 300 billion in financial assets from the world’s biggest nuclear power, Russia, why would it keep its hands off those five trillion in Gulf State financial assets in US markets? The West can’t protect them anyway so why not take the five trillion and run?
