Aramco, the largest oil refinery and producer of fossil fuel products in the world has been totally destroyed. This is a blow from which the world economy will not recover. The US has no viable military options. But Netanyahu is coming to Washington and will tell Trump he has new intelligence that Iran is developing a nuclear weapon and he must continue the war at all costs. Trump’s self-image as a “winner” will not allow him to admit defeat and just withdraw from the region.

One snarky note: People like Col Wilkerson and Chas Freeman who believe that fossil fuels cause global warming should be happy about this. It will accelerate the transition of the world economy away from fossil fuels. These folks, who are pushing wind and solar energy, don’t mention that the lack of fossil fuels will mean their replacement not with wind and solar energy but with nuclear power. Russia and China lead the world by far in nuclear power. The US has not built a nuclear power plant in fifty years.
