Seven-term Congressman Thomas Massie, wildly popular for many years in the small 4th District of Kentucky was defeated by $35,000,000 in Zionist billionaire money probably combined with a vote-by mail ballot stuffing. Trump’s MAGA movement is still supported only by these billionaires and older Republican baby boomers. Baris says Republicans are going to get creamed in November. The fact that Trump so obviously makes supporting Israel his highest priority, which has gotten us into a stupid war with Iran that nobody wants and is causing serious inflation constitutes a complete betrayal of those who voted for him, many for the first time, because they believed he would represent their interests. If he loses both the House and the Senate, he is liable to be removed from office.

The pendulum then swings to the Democratic Party. There is a split between younger Democrats, whose economic interests are the same as those of younger Republicans, and the neoliberal leadership of the Clintons, Obama and their ilk, who have sold out every good thing the Democrats stood for in the days of FDR and JFK, impoverishing the working class, letting the oligarchs take over, and starting several illegal wars. No real antiwar progressive, such as I have been all my life, can possibly support these leaders or their candidates. We are hearing some encouraging things, such as that 90% of Democrats are against the Iran war and we also find the election of Zohran Mamdani in New York encouraging. Some, such as George Galloway call him a phony, but they do not give any evidence of that. I’m following him, and I say so far so good. I am even inclined to forgive Bernie, although he did cave to the neoliberals. The trouble with Tucker is that he thinks the Democrats, or the Democratic leadership, are “leftists”. It takes a real leftist like me to tell you that these leaders and their candidates are complete phonies, they are not real leftists, and even if they think they are, that just makes them even bigger fools with their stupid identity politics of race and sexual orientation. Maybe there is some chance of a revolt within the Democratic Party against the leadership. That is what progressive antiwar Democrats should be working for at every level. Every Democrat that supports Israel or takes Zionist money should be primaried. Honest candidates must be brought in to run against them.
