Prof. Jeffrey Sachs : Irreversible Economic Damage Nears

The war approaches the point of irreversible economic catastrophe as oil production infrastructure is destroyed in the Gulf states and Iran. At some point, passage through Hormuz will no longer be an issue because no oil will be coming from there for years. The world economy cannot stand this. There is nothing that the two psychopaths in power in the US and Israel will not do in their desperation. They are about to send US Marines on a suicide mission of some kind. The IDF is cracking. Hezbollah is crushing them in Lebanon. Netanyahu will use nuclear weapons as Iran pounds Israel to pieces. The US government is breaking down on every level. This is what happens when an empire collapses. Marxist revolutionaries used to say the working class has to organize to smash the state. But we see here that the state is falling apart on its own, with no apparent organized resistance. The people have to organize a new government to occupy the vacuum of power left by the breakup of the state now happening before our eyes. American people must rise up in a non-partisan peace movement with a leadership that has moral integrity. They will be beaten, some killed by the forces of fascism now running this country, but if they persevere, they will prevail. Trump and Netanyahu are on their last legs.
