Before arms control treaties, there was only MAD (Mutually Assured Destruction) to prevent a nuclear war. But the fear of nuclear war seems to have worn off in the minds of our imperial rulers. Putin has warned that Russia will use nuclear weapons to defend itself if necessary in such an event as a NATO attack on Kaliningrad. He refers to Russia’s “competitive advantage” in nuclear weapons. Ray also thinks that Israel probably will use nukes in extremis as the death cult known as Zionism collapses.
