The United States has already got a military base in Greenland, which is called the Pituffik Space Base, which is located in northwestern Greenland, less than a 1000 miles from the North Pole and the base was established under a 1951 defence agreement between Denmark and the United States.
The purpose of the base is to provide early detection of potential ballistic missiles, as it hosts an advanced Ballistic missile early warning system (BMEWS) and space surveillance capabilities.
Therefore, all the talk of the United States buying or conquering Greenland is a ruse, as the United States had already got a military presence in Greenland in the 1950s.
Incidentally, the United States Pituffik Space Base in Greenland, has a 3000 meter runway and a naval port for supplies.
Let me understand this. NATO offered part of Greenland to be annexed by the US. Seems to me then that NATO and the US cannot logically hold to their claim that Crimea, whose inhabitants voted to join Russia, was stolen from Ukraine.
That old saying: “If you can’t beat them, join them.”
Advice to Greenlanders: accept the inevitable and make the most of the US spending money in your country; try and avoid the attraction for the Greenland girls to co-operate with brothels; try and agree/ensure that mining especially, and other earth-moving and chemicals (diesel leaks from trucks, planes, runways, fuel tanks), have Environmental Impact studies done, and that all precautions are taken by all concerned to capture and treat polluted leakage & run-off water, avoid poisoning the earth, water, wildlife and humans.
