Davos 2026: Special Address by Donald J. Trump, President of the United States of America
Watch the special address by Donald J. Trump, President of the United States, at the World Economic Forum Annual Meeting 2026 in Davos, highlighting US policy priorities and global economic perspectives.
My first impression is that this was a well-delivered and consequential speech. It shows that Trump is still quite capable and not senile or demented. It seemed quite spontaneous. He was not just reading off a teleprompter. I question the judgement of many who have said this, including Larry Johnson and many other anti-Trumpers in thinking they are qualified to make such medical judgements. They should know better. Trump is certainly very unorthodox, but that is not grounds for calling him senile or demented. That is not to say that Trump might not drop dead of a heart attack at any moment. He is eighty and he is under a huge amount of stress. But mentally, I have not seen any signs of it. He is not Biden.
I will leave fact-checking everything he said to others for now, and only urge my readers to listen to the whole thing from beginning to end, doing your best to suspend your existing beliefs while doing so, as I have tried to do, before coming to your own conclusions, if any.
