The three former members of Soviet Union, the Balic states of Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania, who now are members of NATO and the EU, are among the those the most concerned about the fate of Greenland. Rhod Mackenzie asks why now has this serious concern appeared when before there was a complete lack of concern regarding a remote Arctic island that is not even part of the EU. Or has it to do with fear of the US leaving NATO?

The antagonism of the Baltic States to Russia, based I suppose on their experience in the USSR is a self-defeating and inappropriate basis for their foreign policy. They have cost uncountable numbers of deaths by supporting the war instigated by the USA, my country, in Ukraine and contributed to the impoverishment of Europe. They Baltic States, like the rest of NATO and the USA, suffer from the folly and personal greed of their political leaders.

It scares me more than it should any Balt or Poland. Why? Because Trump’s use of executive power is not constitutional in the USA and congress sits mute. It means that Trump is acting as a King and not a President of the USA. It means that the USA is a TYRANNY!
