Mr Christoforou speaks of the USA “investing” in sending weapons to Europe. May I remark that it is not “investment”? In fact, it is almost the exact opposite of investment. It reminds me of the “firemen” in Ray Bradbury’s “Fahrenheit 451” whose job is to go round heaping up and burning valuable goods that people cannot afford to buy.

I agree with many points made here, but one aspect of the assessment is incorrect. It’s not that Europe is a dead weight for America; rather, America is a dead weight for Europe. America cannot leave Europe alone, which is why it has installed American-aligned leaders across Europe. Imagine what would happen if Merkel’s plans for European independence had come to fruition. If America were to leave Europe and Europe removed these American-aligned leaders from power, reverting to the policies pursued under Merkel before the war in Ukraine began, the consequences would be significant. I agree with your argument, except that European leaders are not US-aligned leaders but IsrFirst/City of London-aligned leaders.
