With all the things going on back home in the US (and there is a lot of it), I would not at all be surprised if this is appeasement, to keep the zionist lobby off his back. After all, it took Putin more than a decade to get the Russian oligarchs out or Russian politics.

If the Russians are capable of holding back and restricting the Iranians, the US should be capable to hold back and restricting the Israelis. It seems the Americans are not able to do that. So how can the Middle East ever be at peace?
