1. Pamela Anderson

Pamela Anderson’s great-grandfather was Russian. Pam has spoken highly of Vladimir Putin and more famously has been paying frequent visits to Julian Assange. Maybe Wikileak’s has a Russian connection after all.

2. Joaquin Phoenix

Hollywood star Joaquin Phoenix was born in Puerto Rico but his mother was part Russian.

3. Leonardo DiCaprio

In spite of his very Italian name, Leo’s grand-mother Yelena Smirnova was very much Russian. Perhaps this is why he was once rumored to be cast as Vladimir Putin in a film?

4. Steven Seagal

Seagal’s grandparents were from Russia. He recently became a Russian citizen and frequently stages music and martial arts showcases in Russia. Because of this he was recently banned from entering Ukraine as a national security threat. He is an action star after all.

5. Ayn Rand

Ayn Rand was born in Russia becoming moving to the United States. Her anti-communist views are still popular among many on the US right.

How could you forget Helen Mirren? Her real name is Yelena Vasilievna Mironov. Her paternal grandfather was a tsarist functionary who fled the revolution and moved to England.
