Newt Gingrich is being applauded by members of the Trump campaign after he attacked Megyn Kelly on her Fox News show Tuesday night, accusing her of being ‘fascinated with sex’ and not caring about public policy.
Megyn Kelly raised Trump’s hot mic comments and numerous accusations of sexual assault that have plagued the presidential candidate, but Gingrich echoed Trump’s claims that the media is rigged against him.
Gingrich: “You want to go back to the tapes of your show recently? You are fascinated with sex and you don’t care about public policy,”
Kelly: “Me? Really? Listen, Mr. Speaker, I’m not fascinated by sex, but I am fascinated by the protection of women and understanding what we’re getting in the Oval Office.”
Gingrich: “Let me point out something to you, the 3 major networks spent 23 minutes attacking Donald Trump…and 57 seconds on Hillary Clinton’s secret speeches.”
He accused Kelly and other media outlets of being biased and rightly so, while Kelly pointed out that she had explored the sexual assault allegations surrounding Bill Clinton on her show when he attacked former president Clinton.
Gingrich then exclaimed: “I dare you! Say Bill Clinton, sexual predator” after Kelly bringing up that Trump may be considered a sexual predator.
Dan Scavino Jr., the director of social media for the campaign, defended Gingrich’s outburst while criticizing Kelly in a series of tweets after the bizarre incident.
