UK: Hospitals to Deny Care to “Racist” or “Homophobic” Patients

What could possibly go wrong?

Patients deemed to be “racist” or “homophobic” will be denied care in NHS Trust hospitals under new rules set to take effect in April.

“Currently, staff can refuse to treat non-critical patients who are verbally aggressive or physically violent towards them,” reports Sky News. “But these protections will extend to any harassment, bullying or discrimination, including homophobic, sexist or racist remarks.”

Police will also be given new powers to prosecute “hate crimes” committed against NHS staff.

What is determined to be “racist” or “homophobic” is anyone’s guess, since many elderly patients will be totally unfamiliar with modern politically correct speech codes and could be deemed to have behaved in a racist or homophobic way even if they didn’t maliciously intend to.

As Jack Montgomery highlights, “In late 2017 an NHS patient who requested a female nurse to carry out a cervical smear complained when the hospital sent a person with “an obviously male appearance… close-cropped hair, a male facial appearance and voice, large number of tattoos and facial stubble” who insisted “My gender is not male. I’m a transsexual.”

The line between critical and non-critcal care is also up for debate. Will refusal to treat a patient because they said something someone deems offensive result in accidental deaths?

This is even worse than China’s social credit score, which hasn’t yet gone so far as to punish people by withdrawing medical treatment if they engage in wrongthink.

First it was deplatforming people from social media websites, then it was deplatforming people from bank accounts and mortgages. Now it’s deplatforming people from hospital treatment. Literally eliminating people’s right to basic health care because of their political or social opinions.

It’s also important to emphasize that these changes are coming in under a supposedly “conservative” government.

Respondents poked fun at the new rules.

“This is going to be hilarious when a boomer is denied his double bypass cause he called someone coloured on Facebook,” remarked one.

“Don’t get sick in the UK if you’ve ever posted “Grooming gang” statistics,” commented another.

NHS wtf is wrong with you? Sending a tranny to work on a woman? Beyond disgraceful.

So much for medical code of ethics.

Going to throw some water on the coals, but the link is to and article written by paul joseph Watson, a YT and social media personality with a bias to the sensational. Taking the story on merit It can’t say I’d be surprised and given a lot of social pressures from the champaign socialists, something like this may happen, but given the fallout that will come and the oath sworn by medical personnel I suspect all this will be a storm in a teacup. I suspect sensationalism here as there are too many rights violated with such an imposition and… Read more »

In Auschwitz and other German and Austrian extermination camps Nazi doctors operated on live patients, doing “research”, like the infamous Dr. Mengele. These were ALL medical people who “had sworn the oath”. Yes, the oath of loyalty to fascist Hitler. I do not trust people. Not at all! Too many bad things have happened to trust any profession in general. There are always bad and sadistic people in every profession, even and especially among doctors.

My view isn’t always in keeping with the common thought. My cynicism of the piece comes largely because of the source of Paul Joseph Watson. He is an avid PC basher and while Political Correctness needs bashed and hard, PJW has come across as a sensationalist to me. He seems to have an agenda. I don’t doubt the possibilities of the article, but much for the reasons Olivia has mentioned and the fact there is strong historical fact for such nastiness, it would seem as logical that major powers would avoid going down such a road. There is also the… Read more »

“….it would seem as logical that major powers would avoid going down such a road”… Oh no! Major powers are going down such a road right to this very day! I am thinking of modern day gulags, aka the CIA torture prisons all around the world: Cuba – Poland – Romania – Iraq – and many other countries that we do not know of … Ok, hospitals are not prisons (yet) but with the fascist mentality, they can easily be turned into prisons, if wished for. The Nazis had hospitals where they killed people with “euthanasia”. I do not think… Read more »

“…there is also the issue of the doctors and nurses themselves. The scum are still a minority …”

The little word “still” implies that a minority can easily become a majority with the Zeitgeist changing. In fascist regimes this happens all the time.

And even if those scum doctors and nurses remain a “minority”, would you like to be treated by one of those scum people? I wouldn’t!

” …The idea is too controversial” – maybe now, but who knows what can happen? “Wehret den Anfängen”. (Pull out the evil in its root).

This can’t possibly happen because ethically Doctors cannot comply with it. Many years ago when I was a Resident Moonlighting in an ER in Palatka, Florida, a patient with lacerations that needed stitches made racist comments about me I sewed him up anyway and let the nurses chastise him. I predict the Doctors will rebel and it will have to be dropped.

That is you – but there are others who are not so ethically minded, alas. In Germany, I got to know quite a few doctors who were nothing more than gangsters.
