MOSCOW (Sputnik) – The Russian Armed Forces will receive advanced electronic maps of every area on the planet that would be updated using the information from satellites, the press service of the Ruselectronics holding said in a statement Thursday.
“The system of making electronic topographic maps, developed by Ruselectronics (which is part of the Rostec state corporation), has been accepted by the order of the Russian Defense Ministry for supplying the Russian Armed Forces,”
the statement said.
According to the statement, the system uses the information received from mapping aircraft and spacecraft to create the maps.
The statement added that the system that uses only domestic software should improve the efficiency of command and control of troops.
