Putin fires back at EU resolution claiming USSR & Germany “paved the way” for WW2 by The Duran
The Duran Quick Take: Episode 415. The Duran’s Alex Christoforou and Editor-in-Chief Alexander Mercouris discuss Vladimir Putin’s fiery address to the Defense Ministry board, where the Russian President took to task and debunked a bizarre European Parliament resolution trying to place the blame of World War 2 on the Soviet Union.
Some nations in Europe that colluded with Adolf Hitler and applauded his anti-Semitic crusade, now demolish Soviet war memorials and seek to equate the USSR with Nazi Germany, the Russian president noted, during a formal speech.
Vladimir Putin recalled the vicious developments that preceded the Second World War, in an address to the Defense Ministry board on Tuesday, telling his audience there was one particular fact in the archive files that touched him the most. Back in 1938, Adolf Hitler hosted the Polish Ambassador to Germany Jozef Lipski and shared with him a plan to send European Jews to Africa where they would surely perish, Putin said.
“The Ambassador in Poland replied, and then wrote it down in his cable to the Polish Foreign Minister: ‘I told Hitler that, if he does, we will erect a magnificent monument to him in Warsaw’,” the President quoted from the archive data, before turning somewhat emotional.
He was a bastard, an anti-Semitic pig, there’s no other way of saying it. He fully agreed with Hitler in his anti-Semitic sentiments and, moreover, promised him he’d erect a monument in Warsaw to his abuse of the Jewish people.
Putin’s words were aimed at a bizarre resolution by the European Parliament, which claimed that the 1939 non-aggression treaty between the USSR and Nazi Germany – known as the Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact by the names of Soviet and German Foreign Ministers – had “paved the way for the outbreak of the Second World War.”
But to Putin, signing a pact with Hitler was choosing between bad and worse, namely, the Soviet Union having less time to prepare for the German offensive. Meanwhile, other European nations did not behave any better, he reminded.
Starting from 1938, when Hitler lodged his claims to a part of Czechoslovakia, Great Britain and France surrendered their ally, although [Prague] had a mutual assistance agreement with France, and provided Hitler with the opportunity to seize [the German-inhabited regions of the country].
A year later, the Third Reich invaded Poland, the Eastern European country that had actually “colluded” with Hitler before the war, as historical records tell.
“It is these people who negotiated with Hitler back in the day, it is this sort of people that demolish monuments commemorating Red Army soldiers, who liberated European countries and peoples from the Nazis,” the President concluded. “They are their followers.”

With all due respect Putin but nitpicking is a little benieth you and narrow mined to say the least. WW2 was a result of WW1 and the same politics that inspired it. There was a lot of imperialist shenannigans that went on that boiled over between empires and emergent powers. After WW1 a rot was sewn that Hitler detested and even Stalin was weary off, but were Hitler sought a greater Germany beyond restoration of former dominion, Stalin wasn’t keen to be involved at all. A regular poster on here, Eric Zuesse, has written a book I am VERY interested in reading, “Why the Holocaust Happened : Its Religious Cause & Scholarly Cover-Up”, but it has been out of print for some time, and is quite difficult to obtain. Stalin certainly lacked no balls and met whomever he deemed worthy to meet. He even met Roosevelt once, although he despised and disliked him, and rightly so. From the Soviet point of view, the US and Roosevelt were TRAITORS.

But I don’t think many would argue that the limited influence Russia has gained by having a dialog with Korea has born largely positive fruit? The problem we in the West are faced with, is that it becomes virtually impossible for any of us to have even the remotest understanding as to what any country that is considered an existential enemy of the US is all about. I suspect the greatest failure is the the evidential occurance of believing we are Gods in our own right. As we delude ourselves into the notion that to be examples of what we preach, we are what preach, we somehow transend the facts we are as capable of that which we denounce. I read “The Creature From Jekyll Island” or should say, started to. So many of his assertions were unsupported, and the tone was so high strung, I felt Griffin himself wasn’t credible. Ha, some years ago Putin claimed that Stalin’s deal with Hitler, which was a lot more than a non-aggression pact, was not representative of Russia. Putin insisted it was a personal scheme of Stalin. Now he’s backtracking? The seeds of WW2 were sown by Woodrow Wilson and the others at Versailles. And lest we forget, it was the Allies who declared war on Nazi Germany, not the other way around!
The Soviet Union was part of the “Allies”. The Soviet Union did not declare war on Nazi Germany, but Nazi Germany invaded the Soviet Union and “declared war”. Your view is warped, keep to the facts! And do not misinterprete Putin’s words, but read his interviews and speeches carefully instead.
Hitler’s invasion of Russia was a pre-emptive strike against the planned massive invasion of all of Western Europe by the Jewish Bolshevik Communist Soviets. Sadly he was delayed five or six weeks by that idiot Mussolini’s adventurism in Greece. Were it not for that the world would be a different and much better place for white European peoples today.

Very true! And the US coward Roosevelt diddled and daddled, postponed endlessly, until he finally sent US troops to “land in Normandy”, after the Soviets had already born the brunt of the Nazi invasion in the Soviet Union and won the war.

To make it very clear and understandable for every partner on this forum. The “annexation” of the so called Eastern Poland in autumn 1939 by the Soviet Union was the result of a former 18 year occupation of Western Ukraine by the fascist polish entity since the extortionate peace treaty of 1921 in Riga. In other words – Ukrainians, Germans of Volhynia, Jews and ordinary Polish as well down to Halych-Galicia and the Western-Carpathians had to suffer from the arrogance of the well-known “Polski Pan” who dominated now 18 years long the western part of Ukraine.
