MSNBC’s Chris Matthews Goes WW2 On Bernie After Nevada Win by The Duran

The Duran Quick Take: Episode 480. The Duran’s Alex Christoforou and Editor-in-Chief Alexander Mercouris discuss MSNBC’s Chris Matthews comparison of Bernie Sanders’ Nevada win to France’s fall to Germany in WW2. Matthews statement enraged Bernie supporters who are now calling for his firing.

Via Fox News…

MSNBC’s Chris Matthews drew ire on social media Saturday after he compared the Nevada Democratic caucus victory of U.S. Sen. Bernie Sanders to France’s fall to the Nazis during World War II.

“I’m reading last night about the fall of France in the summer of 1940,” Matthews said during the network’s caucus coverage. “And the general calls up Churchill and says, ‘It’s over,’ and Churchill says, ‘How can it be? You got the greatest army in Europe. How can it be over?’ He said, ‘It’s over.’”

The backlash on Twitter was swift and severe, with many commenters calling for Matthews to resign or be fired. Many pointed out that Sanders’ family includes survivors of the Holocaust.

James Thompson on Twitter: “Chris Matthews needs to step down or be fired! These comments are completely out of line. We need journalism not hyperbolic hysteria. #FireChrisMatthewshttps://t.co/uRH7pbIdvk / Twitter”

But Larry O’Connor, a commentator with the Washington Examiner and KABC radio in Los Angeles, shared a different view.

“For the past four years,” O’Connor wrote, “Donald Trump has been incessantly likened to Hitler and his supporters to Nazis, so to all the outraged Dems screaming about Chris Matthews making a clumsy, innocuous comparison between Bernie’s win and 1940 France, may I just say…”

During his commentary, Matthews expressed doubts about Sanders’ chances in November if he goes on to win the Democratic nomination and face President Trump.

“It looks like Bernie Sanders is hard to beat right now,” Matthews said. “I’m with [James] Carville all the way in terms of the dangers of what lies ahead in November. They’re sitting on so much oppo research on Bernie.”

Matthews said Republicans would “kill” Sanders in the general election but right now “it’s a little late to stop him.”

Here is an article that looks at the billionaire donors who are controlling the top three Democratic candidates:

There is only one top Democrat candidate, surely,
and Bernie is not controlled by billionaires.

What a hilarious idea! Douche bag Bernie driving his Nazi Panzer Divisions trough Nevada. “Heil Hitler, mein Füihrer, wir haben gesiegt”. The US gets crazier and crazier by the day. So funny to watch! Thanks for this excellent analysis, Alex and Alexander. Your videos are the best youtube entertainment.

Monty Python would have material for a lifetime with this US election cycle. Europeans, if they watch at all, shake their heads in wonder. Such a circus has never been seen yet in good old Europe. It must be some sort of specialty of the western frontier, on the other side of the pond. Luckily, it is very far away from Europe. The descendants of those poor suckers who once emigrated there are getting absurder, funnier and weirder by the day.

“You are a history guy”, tells you a lot about the education of the majority of the population in the “first world economy”. History is not exactly their forte, as education in general is doing poorly in the USA, not bigly, no very poorly indeed. President Trump will have his hands full of work while improving not only the MAGA economy but also the MAGA educational institutions and programmes.

PS
Bernie Sanders is obviously not the brightest bulb in the chandelier. Bernie is going to get Bernied again by the DNC, just like last time, in 2016. Those who cannot learn from their mistakes are condemned to repeat them.

They are trying to pullout another Russian influencing scandal too. The media and political class in the US is utter trash.

I like to see Alexander Mercouris amused. This video is very entertaining. Simply outstanding analysis and coverage, yet again. Superb! ???? It is glorious to see the left in the USA at war with itself. Not only are they not able to produce any kind of economic surplus whatsoever, they are not even able to unite behind one of their miserly candidates. So much infighting – worse than cats! Dear Alex Christoforou and Alexander Mercouris, let us please see more of the “Lefty Looney Tunes”. I so enjoyed the show.

Crazy Chris at it again.

BTW: “Schiff leaked it,” Trump said on Tuesday. “Bernie is probably winning… and maybe they don’t want him. So they put out a thing that Russia’s backing him. This is what they do. I’ve gone through it for a long time. I get it. I get the game better than anybody.”

Not the folks here. We’ve known the game for years now.

“I want no help from any country and I haven’t been given help from any country,” Trump stated.

Not even Israel? Oh, c’mon, Donnie. Quid pro quo, dude, and it ain’t Ukraine.

So Is Bernie gonna sweep every state? THEN what are they going to do? They will have to just openly declare “the primaries don’t matter, our electorate can pound sand, we choose _______. Oh yea, and don’t forgot to get out and vote for the candidate our corporate donors picked for you cause we gotta defeat Trump, he’s a fascist and in the pocket of the corporations. Do the right thing, for democracy and the future of the country” ROFLMAO! Man, this is WAAAAY better than “Game of Thrones” I’m on the edge of my seat here! ROFL! SO GLAD… Read more »

Whats REALLY funny is, their insane angst contrasts very badly with Trump’s rather classy response. Way to go Donald, landslide in 2020.
Here’s an idea, after Bernie gets screwed, and Trump wins in 2020, he should offer him the position as Secretary of Education!

This is a good reason to ditch MSNBC as a source of news. They are a bunch of rooters for their favorite causes, not journalists trying to present the facts. I have given up with MSNBC, and CNN too. Watch Rick Sanchez and Chris Hedges on RT. It is much healthier and saner because it is real journalism.

Bernie’s grave mistake was in not denouncing the Russiagate hoax after the Mueller report. Instead, he joined in the anti-Putin and anti-Russia bashing, and gave legitimacy to the Russiagate hoax. Now Bernie is the victim of that hoax. Poetic justice.

Yes, it serves him right. Why did he bash Russian President Putin, calling him an “authoritarian thug”? He does not even know him, has never met him. How can he be so arrogant and nasty? Sanders will certainly not be elected President. He does not deserve the post.

“Trump is not a fascist as he has done
nothing to violate the U.S. Cnstitution.”

But surely, the defination of a fascist is one who enforces the U.S. Constitution.
For it is an Empire Manafesto that legalized a genocide of native Americans,
legalized chain slavery for Afro-Americans and now legalizes the genocide of
Palestine natives.

GREATER YOUR WEALTH — GREATER YOUR GREED

For example, Empire USA the wealthiest Empire the world has ever known, it has turned the laboring-class into the 50% working poor who must be kept killer-cop terrorized to the extent that over 1,100 poor laboring men are executed each year by kill-crazy cops.
And all so that the more intelligent upper-half of society may maximize their greed.
