Surely, you have heard what a cold place Russia is. Although it is not always and entirely true, this year has actually been pretty cold.
This Christmas, January 7th, turned out to be the coldest Russia has had in 120 years with temperatures below -30°C (-86 °F).
The long-awaited summer has been surprisingly chilly too in Russia. This June, the day temperatures outside jumped up and down between 10-20 °C (50-70 °F). Most of the days were cloudy and rainy.
However, Russians are doing just fine. They are not afraid of the cold.
Why? Because they know many ways how to keep themselves warm. Here are some of them.
1. First of all, it is important to adapt to the cold. Russians are hardcore about it.
2. Secondly, don’t let your blood freeze. Keep active.
3. Go on the right diet. The more calories – the better.
4. When it gets REALLY cold, wear proper clothes. Every true Russian has a shuba (Russian fur coat).
5. If you can’t cope with the cold, find a way to warm yourself up in home conditions.
6. You just have to use your imagination.
7. And remember, nothing can warm you up better than your friends and family. Or your pet.
