This story has been brewing for several weeks. We saw a few weeks ago how Michigan’s governor Whitmer imposed excessive and ludicrous guidelines on her citizens in the name of “keeping them safe” from the spread of the Chinese coronavirus. New York, California and New Jersey are among the nation’s most restrictive and most irrationally-run states when it comes to dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic.
Presently, this map shows the status of the American states in their opening process (or not) as of May 16, 2020 at 4:04 AM Greenwich Summer Time:
Now, as the US moves toward a resumption of normal life, these states are showing in sharper relief just how extreme their political leaderships are. It indeed seems fair to say that the following terms apply to the leadership styles of these states:
- power-mad
- despotic
- anti-Christian
- anti-liberty
- anti-responsibility
- irrational, neé crazy
These terms would normally be applied as rhetoric for political “discourse” such as it is in the United States these days, but here is a difference: these traits are manifested clearly every day in the so-afflicted places. We see evidence that supports every single term listed above.
Tucker Carlson gives us an excellent rundown:
As he notes near the end of the clip, Americans in these places are responding to these draconian measures and speaking out. For now, the Californians are pursuing legal resolution to the problem of being able to air their grievances in a petition. But if the authorities keep such a lockdown (now expected to continue until late July!!), the summer heat may just be fuel for a multi-million strong person pressure cooker, and COVID-19 will be replaced with a much more real problem.
There is only so much one can take.

America’s become nuttier than a peanut plantation and just as schizophrenic, not knowing if it’s a pea or a nut but always intellectually a vegetable.
I don’t have to but I am sick and tired, actually nauseated, listening to all the bs coming out of this country.
You and me both.
You can always read IsisRaEli news…Bibi wants to chip the children first. That’s seems reasonable.
Since we haven’t yet had a first civil war, a second one would be technically difficult. But splitting the Monolithic Monstrosity known as America into pieces was a great idea 160 years ago, and still is. Let the states secede if they wish (Texas, aka The Lone Star State, would make a good start).
Then, perhaps, we could focus on our own problems and stop meddling in and disrupting the rest of the world.
From the British perspective, things are far far worse this side of the pond, in that there is nearly zero pushback against mass house arrest. Most people have lapped it up and are loving being paid for doing nothing while they game and watch NetFlix, with not a thought in what might loosely be described as their brains about the disaster over the horizon once this farce ends. Peter Hitchens of the Daily Mail is the only mainstream journalist that I know of who has opposed the madness and – more mildly – former Tory minister, David Davis (who was… Read more »
