Barack Obama blames Hillary Clinton election loss on Fox News and TVs in bars

You have to hand it to outgoing President Barack Obama. He did not fall back on the usual Clinton excuses for losing the US elections like blaming it on Russian hackers or “fake news“…no Barack Obama thought up a whole new excuse for the Democrat’s poor showing in November.

In a post-election interview with Rolling Stone, Obama stated that a big part of the reason Democrats lost the White House was because of “Fox News in every bar and restaurant in big chunks of the country.”

Jann S. Wenner of Rolling Stone didn’t bring up the topic of Fox News. President Obama volunteered it in an interview following after Hillary Clinton’s failed White House bid.

Asked whether he thinks the United States is a progressive country, Obama said that Democrats are having trouble reaching white working-class voters.

“There is a cohort of working-class white voters that voted for me in sizable numbers, but that we’ve had trouble getting to vote for Democrats in midterm elections.”

“In this election, [they] turned out in huge numbers for Trump. And I think that part of it has to do with our inability, our failure, to reach those voters effectively. Part of it is Fox News in every bar and restaurant in big chunks of the country, but part of it is also Democrats not working at a grass-roots level, being in there, showing up, making arguments.”

“That part of the critique of the Democratic Party is accurate. We spend a lot of time focused on international policy and national policy and less time being on the ground. And when we’re on the ground, we do well. This is why I won Iowa.”

Russia, fake news, misogynists, James Comey, racists, FBI, Facebook, Wikileaks, and now Fox News…all reasons why Hillary lost.  Maybe one day the fact that Hillary was such a piss poor candidate, and perhaps the worst politician in US history, will some day make the election blame game list.

Zerohedge rightly points out…

Yes, because Fox News didn’t exist in 2008 and 2012 in the MidWest and CNN, ABC, CBS, NBC, MSNBC, NYT, Reuters, AP, etc., etc., etc. are all extremely impartial news outlets…not extensions of the democratic party.

Fox News jumped on Obama’s ridiculous accusation. Megyn Kelly took issue with President Obama taking a cheap shot at Fox News during his interview with Rolling Stone.
