American or Russian feminism…which do you prefer?

The differences are many.

With identity politics hitting a fever pitch in the US, and Russia constantly under attack for its traditional values, feminism is interpreted in a much different way in Russia than America.

From what I’ve recently gleaned through reading RT, it seems Russian women are a cut above: *If the husband works 10 hours a day at the mill, it’s no burden for a Russian wife to have his supper ready when he comes home. *If a Russian man asks his wife for a cup of coffee he doesn’t get a song and a dance. *Russian women like being treated like ladies. *Russian women actually like acting like ladies. *Russian men are allowed to be the head of the house without getting yelled at about male privilege. *Russian women do not humiliate… Read more »

A Russian woman doesn’t get a song and dance when she asks her husband for a cup of coffee
Russian man are NOT exclusively the head of a household. It is a partnership.
Russian people are mature and do not take themselves all that seriously and can and do take on their partner often, both ways.
Russian men and women are not more faithful to each other than the rest of Europe.

Comparing Russians with Americans is comparing ADULTS to CHILDREN. .

You get what you expect… when I got married the first time (1956) both parties had certain “expectations” and both had roles to play in the partnership. Some lived up to their responsibility better than some others… but the majority played their role pretty well.
