Six hundred and fifty thousand people participated in the “Immortal Regiment” march in central Moscow, where people hold the portraits of their relatives who fought in WWII. The March was lead by President Vladimir Putin.
The march has its origins in 2007 in the Siberian city of Tyumen. In 2012 in Tomsk it was held for the first time under the name, Immortal Regiment and now covers over 500 cities in 7 countries.
