Russia celebrates Victory over Nazi Germany at annual parade on Moscow’s Red Square (WATCH LIVE)

Vladimir Putin congratulates the Russian armed forces, distinguished heads of state, and all viewers on the 73rd anniversary of Victory over Nazi Germany on May 9th, 1945

The 73rd Victory Day parade kicked off on Moscow’s Red Square to mark the victory over Nazi Germany in World War II.

Viewers around the world will get to see battle-tested military hardware as well as the most advanced war machines.

This year’s parade will have some ‘newcomers,’ including robotic military vehicles, drones and supersonic missiles.

The event is traditionally opened with the solemn carrying of flags, including the Russian flag and the red banner that was raised by Soviet troops over the Reichstag building in May of 1945 in Berlin, Germany.
