Russia’s president Vladimir Putin is disappointed in US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson.

Putin made his feelings known while speaking at the Far Eastern Economic Forum in Vladivostok on Thursday.

The details come from Reuters:

Addressing a U.S. citizen at a plenary session of an economic forum in the far eastern city of Vladivostok, Putin said: “We awarded your compatriot Mr. Tillerson the Order of Friendship, but he seems to have fallen in with the wrong company and to be steering in the other direction.”

“I hope that the wind of cooperation, friendship and reciprocity will eventually put him on the right path,” Putin added, drawing cheers from the crowd.

Tillerson came into the post of Secretary of State with high hopes on the part of some that he would be able to help newly elected US president Donald Trump restore relations with Russia.

Those hopes have been largely dashed following a stringent new sanctions bill passed by the US Congress and US raids on Russian diplomatic property in San Francisco, Washington, and New York.

Tillerson, much like Trump himself, has appeared powerless to take any meaningful steps toward restoring good relations in the face of an avalanche of hysterical “Russian collusion” charges from US politicians and mainstream media.

Thus it should come as no surprise if the clever tongue-in-cheek rebuke from Putin, incites paranoid reactions from mainstream “fake news” media, about Tillerson’s “real boss” expressing his displeasure with his efforts.

However the real joke is on the Russophobe lobby in the US – Russia was slated to ink contracts worth over $34 billion at the Far Eastern Economic Forum in Vladivostok.

Washington wasn’t invited to the party.
