Not only does the west’s mainstream function as a cover and PR agency for the political and financial elites, it also wants you to deceive yourself. A prefect example of this is CNN’s anchor Chris Cuomo declaring Wikileaks email disclosers are “illegal” and “stolen documents,” particularly leaked emails related to the activities of the Hillary Clinton presidential campaign.

Chris Cuomo is never the smartest guy in the room. I was invited on this program a couple years back. The topic was Ukraine. I expected the interview to be an ambush and it was. Let’s just say he was the one who had to make a dash for the door. He is a typical American television “news personality” – poorly informed but with an agenda. He and others like him could easily be mistaken for a spokesperson for the U.S. State Department.

Not only is Cuomo an intellectual charlatan, but also now presents himself some kind of legal guru. He told his viewers: “Also interesting is, remember, it’s illegal to possess these stolen documents. It’s different for the media. So everything you learn about this, you’re learning from us.” I am not making this up!

Whatever you think of Wikileaks, there can be no doubt this organization is doing what journalism is supposed to do – inform the public. When we visit the Wikileaks site we are not doing anything illegal. In the case of the Clinton campaign emails, we are made aware what public officials are thinking and doing. The public has a right to know what public officials are up to.

As for Cuomo’s words: “So everything you learn about this, you’re learning from us.” American corporate media is a journalistic disgrace. I can’t image what we can learn from Cuomo and CNN. Wikileaks is a valuable news source because news outlets like CNN have abandoned the principles and ethics of journalism. Even a cursory review of CNN’s “news” informs it is an extension of the Clinton campaign PR apparatus. It should be called by its real name – “Clinton Network News.”
